Editorial principles of the OpenClinic24 health guide

Health information shapes decisions. That is why we disclose who writes, who reviews, what we rely on and where our content ends.

  • 13,982 patients treated
  • Licensed physicians

Who writes

Authors are licensed physicians who treat patients at OpenClinic24 or provide medical oversight for the platform. Each is named with qualification and an author page. We do not publish editorial texts without a physician as author.

How articles are reviewed

Before publication every article is medically reviewed for accuracy, currency of sources, completeness of warning signs and plain language. The review date is shown in the article and included in the structured data.

Which sources we accept

In this order: clinical guidelines (AWMF, European and international societies), randomised trials and meta-analyses in peer-reviewed journals, review articles, public authorities (Robert Koch Institute, BfArM, Federal Joint Committee, legal texts) and IQWiG. Manufacturer information, press and consumer portals are not evidence for medical claims.

Studies are linked by DOI and verified against the Crossref database for title, journal and year before publication.

How often we update

Each article carries a review date and is re-reviewed at the latest after twelve months, earlier when guidelines or laws change. We only change the modification date when the content actually changes.

What our content is not

Guide articles are general information. They replace neither a medical examination nor individual advice. Whether a prescription or sick note is issued is decided by the treating physician in each case. We name active substances, not brand names as recommendations, and make no promises of cure.

Photos, videos and AI

Photos and short video loops in the guide are AI-generated and show no real patients or doctors. They are labelled as illustrative. Texts are written and reviewed by physicians; AI tools assist with research, translation and formatting but never replace medical review.

Trust figures

Figures on treated patients and Google reviews refer to the stated date and are updated regularly.
